USA / / Actor=Rosie Perez / College film student Benjamin Glass (played by writer-director Aaron Fisher) has it all: ADHD, OCD, borderline personality. And he's also bipolar. But Glass is more than his diagnoses - he prefers the term "recklessly extravagant" -- and he's determined to prove his genius. When a misunderstanding threatens to expel him from college, Glass pushes back; he plans on recreating the incident on video, with the help of a moonlighting porn actress (Ellen Toland), to clear his name. But how will he raise the money for the film, when his parents dismiss the scheme as another manic episode? Inside the Rain is a wincingly funny rom-com-drama, anchored by off-kilter performances by co-stars Fisher and Toland. The colorful ensemble cast includes Rosie Perez as a tough love shrink, Eric Roberts as an unhinged film producer, and Catherine Curtin and Paul Schulze as the long-suffering parents. The ultimate underdog film and proof that if you believe in yourself, anything is possible / Runtime=1 Hours 30 minute.

Free/nominal fees for subscription services meant I spent a fair bit of time on games which were not on my backlog (albeit most were on my wishlist, so I can treat them as a preemptive elimination! ). I also had a few timesinks which I regularly went back to as I found many new games to be unsatisfying. It manages to link stories about music, painting, mathematics and war in a clever and engrossing way. The choices are genuinely impactful and make for tough decisions at times. AER: Memories of Old A short game, but quite relaxing and pretty – especially in the flight sections. I had no interest in the story, but the relatively gentle puzzles and enjoyable flights made it worthwhile. Mad Max Much like Mafia III, this is a 10-hour game elongated into a 30+ hour game by copy-pasting tasks. While in theory most tasks are optional, the slow progress and gating of upgrades essentially requires completion of much of them. This becomes a grind, and the gameplay isn’t quite enough to keep it interesting. Quantum Break A mediocre story and a mediocre shooter, yet somehow more than the sum of its parts. Maybe I’m just nostalgic for the days of FMV integration in games, but this wound up being quite entertaining. Hitman – season 1 My first and only other Hitman game is Absolution, which apparently was a departure for the series. That leaves me in the position of finding this return to normality for the series as rather jarring. I prefer the linear and tighter nature of Absolution – since I don’t care enough to go back and complete them in different ways, it felt like a bit of a thin and shallow experience with a threadbare story. Grim Fandango Remastered I’m dreadful at P&C puzzle games, and quickly realised I wasn’t going to get far without a guide. As such, I cheated my way through most of it and just played it for the writing. Thankfully, the writing is so good that it was still fun. I wasn’t keen on Full Throttle, which I played last year, but this was amusing throughout. The Deadly Tower of Monsters A fun concept – a B-movie spoof – combined with surprisingly forgiving platforming mechanics. I’m not a fan of platformers generally, but the frustration-alleviating features and general sense of humour in the game made for a good experience. Overfall Solid roguelike tactical combat, marred by some sloppy writing [I don’t think English is the first language of the writers, but at least a spell-check would have helped], a wonky interface [pertinent information like resistances is obscured] and a strangely harsh unlock system. Not a bad game by any means, but could have been better with a bit more care. Rock of Ages 2 Bizarre concept, even more bizarre writing, but entertainingly so. It’s surprisingly good-looking and quite fun, but five hours was quite enough for me. Battlefield 1 I haven’t played a Battlefield game since Vietnam, so this took a bit of adjusting. The campaign is very well presented and offers a nice bit of variety, but it’s over so fast. I had no interest in multiplayer, so this made for a brief, if fun, experience. Soul Gambler A very brief visual novel, but at least it had distinct story paths. The writing was decent, if a bit awkward. My main gripe was that you had to individually click through each line on subsequent playthroughs, which is something many visual novels these days manage to avoid. Stikbold A rather strange dodgeball game. I didn’t find the strangeness nearly as amusing as Rock of Ages 2, but it was a moderately entertaining experience with a bit of variety through the different settings and objectives. Cultist Simulator I’m a bit mixed on this. On one hand, it had a surprising amount of content and complexity to it. On the other, it drastically inflated the complexity by veiling basic gameplay aspects. That could mean a lot of wasted time – or worse, inadvertently wrecking a multi-hour playthrough - because it wasn’t clear what you should be doing next. Walkthroughs and guides were essential. While there’s merit to a game which rewards experimentation and discovery of mechanics, there is a point at which it’s just too obtuse, and at times the game did go a bit too far in that respect. Ziggurat A quite clever blend of roguelike and FPS. I’m not much of a fan of the latter, but the gameplay was fun and the roguelike elements softened the blow of failure. Tyranny I disliked Pillars of Eternity and went into this with some trepidation. Fortunately, it was a more enjoyable and accessible experience. Where Pillars just threw a mindnumbing amount of lore at me, this offered a relatively comprehensible story doled out in appropriate chunks. While it did have some of Pillars’ mechanical issues, like poor pathfinding in combat, they did not seem nearly as bad (perhaps due to the smaller scale of battles). The base management stuff seemed tacked on, confusing and wholly unnecessary. It was far from my favourite RPG, but solid enough – and didn’t overstay its welcome. Orwell: Ignorance is Strength I enjoyed the first Orwell game and initially found this a similarly good experience. The few changes were worthwhile ones, and the story seemed to be building up well. Then it suddenly ended. Surely I done something wrong and met an early endgame? Nope, that was it – a mere few hours of gameplay, with an ending so abrupt that I had no idea it was one until the credits rolled. There are different endings, requiring additional playthroughs, but after that disappointment I wasn’t interested in going back to it. Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure This was my first game in the series, and I found it enjoyable. I only had to cheat a few times (which is remarkably good by my standards! ) and the cheesiness of it was all rather endearing. The sequel is now on my wishlist (though it seems to be a fair way off). Train Valley A decent puzzle/strategy game, which quickly escalates from rather placid to chaotic. The simple concept still requires a fair bit of thought to succeed, and while I bumbled through somewhat, it was fun. Rakuen Beautiful. One of my favourite games, evoking the spirit of To the Moon by dealing with weighty topics in a whimsical manner. Wonderful soundtrack and great design. Dangerous Golf I enjoyed this more than I’d expected. It’s all a bit messy, as one would expect from a heavily physics-based game, and almost throws in too many variations, but it is fairly satisfying. In some levels it’s all too easy to get a platinum medal through sheer luck, but in other levels it takes a fair bit of skill and thought to get a good score, which is rather more satisfying. Mutant Year Zero This was frustrating. It has the ingredients for a solid game – great presentation, imaginative world, decent writing and voice acting and the core of a solid tactics game. The problem is that it is structured essentially like a puzzle game. The odds are so intensely stacked against you in a group battle that you must pick off enemies one by one. This makes for a slow and tedious process, especially when combined with the impact of RNG and the unsatisfying ending. Dishonoured 2 I felt a little let down by this. Presentation was good, story was fine, but the powers were mostly unengaging and the combat was frustrating. The combat issues were partly my fault in that I tried a non-lethal run, but while there were a few more non-lethal options, I would have loved an option to just punch someone in the face rather than having to stand around waiting to parry in order to launch a non-lethal attack. Finding Paradise This had a lot to live up to – To the Moon and A Bird Story are among my favourite games – but once again Kan Gao delivered. Touching, funny, surprising and engrossing. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – GotY Edition I went into this with a bit of trepidation, having strongly disliked the first two games in the series. While I am a big fan of the books, the gameplay never clicked with me. This was an improvement to some degree, but I still found the combat in particular frustrating and relatively shallow. I wound up just playing it as a story, and it delivered in that respect – even many of the side quests were more memorable than the main storylines of a lot of other RPGs I’ve played. While I certainly won’t be joining the “Praise Geraldo” crew, I at least had a better experience than I did with the other games in the series. SteamWorld Dig 2 I loved the first game. This was certainly enjoyable but did not reach quite the same heights; perhaps through lack of ambition if nothing else. Solid enough, but lacking the impact of its predecessor. Batman: Arkham Knight This felt like the weakest of the three main Arkham games (I didn’t like Origins much at all, but that is somewhat separate). The combat, setting and presentation were all as interesting as ever, and the story got genuinely interesting towards the end, but the damned car seemed to drag down everything it was involved in. From puzzles to battles, it always felt a bit wonky to me – a particularly sharp contrast to the famously smooth and refined movement and combat the series is known for. Unlike Asylum and City, I didn’t complete the Riddler challenges. This was primarily due to the car, which I was thoroughly sick of by the end. Perhaps I was rendered a bit grumpier than usual by that, but I also found the Rocksteady tendency to lead the player by the nose at some points, and then leave things utterly oblique at other times, to be particularly grating. West of Loathing Genuinely funny at times, and I loved the art style, but it did drag on a little. The Flame in the Flood Quite an atmospheric and appealing game. The presentation is gorgeous, albeit marred by irritating pop-in even on a GTX 1080. The gameplay is pretty easy to pick up, and while it can be frustrating in the way that a survival game with randomisation inevitably can be (and why the hell can’t I boil water to remove the bugs?! ), the checkpoint system is generous enough to ameliorate this. Monster Prom I am not usually one for VNs, but this is great. Entertaining characters, often hilarious (and oh so wrong) writing and easy enough to play through in 15 minutes (it says the short game is 30 minutes, but it doesn't take me anywhere near that). There is plenty of content, some of which is unlockable, meaning there is substantial replayability. Yakuza 0 The first in the series for me, and quite enjoyable. It was funny at times, though the main plot did cause me to drift off towards the end – I wound up doing crosswords during some of the interminable cutscenes. The combat got a bit repetitive, but it was easy enough to get the hang of. I didn’t enjoy it enough to get stuck into the numerous side activities, but the main game was decent enough. Dominique Pamplemousse This is a curious game. It is brief (barely an hour long) and linear. The puzzles are simple. Much of the dialogue is sung, for no apparent reason - and not particularly well. The art style has been described as "claymation noire"; there's little er... "mation", and it all looks a bit muddy. Writing is fine. I chuckled at a few bits, but it's hardly all that, I quite liked it. It's original and there's heart to it. In a sea of lazy asset flips, generic AAA games with no respect for your time and visionless projects, here's an example of people actually daring to have a go with a unique vision. South Park: The Fractured But Whole Not nearly as well-written as its predecessor, but with significantly better combat. The badge progression system was clumsy, and at one point I was left with a stack of grinding to do. Generally a solid experience, though. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Wonderful presentation, with some of the best voice acting I’ve heard in games. The gameplay itself was decent. Combat was a little too simple, and puzzles could be frustrating at times, but it’s really all about the experience. Pizza Express I feel a little silly having spent a lot of money on a gaming rig when I use it to play stuff that looks like something out of the early ‘90s. Nonetheless, this was good fun – amusing story, addictive gameplay and a surprising amount of content. Yoku’s Island Express Cutely presented and an interesting concept. It can be infuriating at times, requiring a degree of precision which is perhaps best not associated with pinball, and getting around can be a bit confusing. Overall, though, it’s quite fun. The Darkside Detective A pretty simple point & click adventure (aside from one strangely hard instalment), broken into small episodes to make it easy to get through a portion at a time. Nothing exceptional, but a decent way to spend a few hours. Tales of Berseria A surprisingly engrossing tale. It's frequently funny and features likeable characters. The voice acting is excellent - it's a tour de force for Cristina Valenzuela in particular. That helps mitigate a convoluted combat system. It was still throwing tutorials at me after 15 hours; I wound up ignoring them and button mashing, which seemed to work fine on Normal difficulty anyway. Performance is rock solid. Smooth FPS, fast loading and limited pop-in. I have never played a Tales game before, and may not play another one, but it doesn't take a love for the series to enjoy this game. Perhaps the group best warned to stay away are achievement hunters - some of them seem to take a heck of a lot of work. The Outer Worlds Disappointing. The simplistic combat not only makes that portion of the game dull, but also weakens the RPG aspects since you can pour all your upgrade points into speech skills, making those challenges a breeze. The writing is one-note (everyone is quirky, snarky or both), the choices are binary and rarely provoke thought (indeed, the hardest choice was one of the very first) and the characters aren't particularly interesting - nor are they given much chance to be in their shallow quests. It also performed poorly on a decent rig - though that's to be expected from Obsidian. Agents of Mayhem It' that bad. Sure, it's flawed - repetitive quests, buggy at times and nowhere near the level of Saints Row's writing - but it has an enjoyably distinct set of characters (sadly enough, the character missions were more interesting than those of Outer Worlds) and the combat is enjoyably free-flowing. PixelJunk Nom Nom Galaxy I liked the idea of discovering ingredients and turning them into various products, but it quickly became centred around ever more complex process designs which were of no interest to me. Action Henk A fun runner; gorgeously presented. I sucked at it though! Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse Presented in an enjoyably light-hearted manner, but it felt like it was dragging on even after four hours. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Ultimate Edition I was quite excited to play this, since it featured three of my favourite actors – Patrick Stewart, Robert Carlyle and Jason Isaacs. That’s the only reason I managed to last five hours. I hated pretty much everything about it; the shoddy fixed camera, the tedious fighting, the cringeworthy writing… The sad thing is that I bought another two games in the series. Sheltered A solid little survival management game. I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as Zafehouse Diaries or Dead State, mainly because the RNG was a bit too impactful. It’s far too common for a game to simply be unwinnable due to a lack of rain and/or the distribution of resources in nearby locations. When things are fairer (or the difficulty is lowered) it becomes quite a grind – with no real winning condition and little in the way of variety (there are a few shallow quests of minimal value or interest) tedium ensues. Civilization VI Quite liked the new mechanics and enjoyed playing as Australia (though Walzing Matilda is so distinctive that it gets a bit grating). Having spent many hours in its predecessors though, there was nothing particularly groundbreaking which compelled me to play more than a few games. Porno Studio Tycoon I’ll give pretty much any management game a go! Unfortunately, things weren’t particularly well explained and while there seemed to be a bit of depth, a lot of it was blocked off (to add to the confusion, the tutorial focused on mechanics which were blocked off for much of the early game). Aarklash: Legacy I normally like tactical games, but this was just too unforgiving and there was no ability to grind to reduce the difficulty. Intergalactic Bubbles It’s basically Bubble Bobble, which is fine. It’s quite nicely presented. The problem is that each level is meant to be completed in a certain number of moves, but since the bubble colours are randomly generated, it’s mostly down to luck – you might be able to wipe out half the bubbles on your first move, or might struggle to get any matches at all. Tom Clancy’s The Division I got fairly close to the end of this game but was just so fed up with it that I couldn’t push myself to get through it. The story was forgettable, the shooting mechanics were mediocre, all the extraneous gameplay elements were just an annoyance and I felt the game was balanced against me as a solo player (only twice did I find a co-op partner, and both of them screamed in Korean throughout). It looked impressive, at least. Kingdom: New Lands Edition I really thought I’d like this game, and had it on my wishlist from release. I love management games, and have no issue with passive management. It also looked gorgeous; this is one of the best-looking pixel-art games I’ve played. Unfortunately, it did not click at all. The AI was not bright, which is inevitably a source of a lot of frustration in a passive management game. Further, the gameplay was just dull. I felt like I was running back and forth endlessly for little reward – pretty though it may have been, I found myself wishing for a button to speed up time. The positive reviews suggest it is a relaxing and chill game – I just found myself frustrated with the AI and bored by the gameplay. Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition For some reason I thought this was more of a starbase management sim rather than a tactical space battle sim. The starbase elements are there, but they are pretty thin. Most of the game is about the tactical space battles, which were interesting and varied enough early on, but after nine hours and no end in sight I was sick of them. FIFA 18 I haven’t played a FIFA game since ’98, so it was interesting to give this a go. The story mode was okay – quite well presented, but the player rating system was infuriating at times (the out-of-position penalties in particular). I did find that there was a huge gap in the difficulty settings – one was ludicrously easy (insultingly so; the AI kept missing from close range), but the next was a bit too steep for someone essentially new to the series. An option between the two would have been nice, or at least an easier difficulty which at least tried to mask how easy it was making things! I also tried management mode, but having been used to Football Manager’s detail I was not able to get into this. Seven: The Days Long Gone This was a frustrating experience. I really liked the concept of an isometric thief RPG, and did my best to give it a fair chance. It had its positive aspects; freedom of movement, decent voice acting and reasonable graphics. However, the freedom of movement also worked against it; confrontations with enemies often spiralled into circular chases suited to Benny Hill music and I lost count of the number of times I plunged to an untimely death through a misstep. Moreover, it didn’t really work to its premise. The game started with a tutorial centred around a stealthy heist, which seemed to be the central premise of the game. The next time I encountered a situation close to that was six hours later. Age of Wonders 3 I loved Shadow Magic many years ago but struggled to get into this. Maps seemed to take an inordinately long time to the point that armies were monstrously large and there was no research left. Maybe I was too defensive, but the AI was very passive. The Dweller A decent little puzzle game with minimal assets. Out of the Park Baseball 19 A slight improvement on its predecessor. The main addition was an online card-game mode, but I’m not sure that works well in a management game. My squad was rapidly full of high-end talent and I felt no real connection to the team. Niche: A Genetics Survival Game Nice concept, but a rather wobbly execution. The genetics aspect tended to be lost due to the fast paced and tough nature of the game; the focus was so much on just keeping any creature alive that genetics didn’t come into my thinking. Apparently the best strategy is to sit on the first island for ages and build up a tribe, but the tutorial didn’t make that clear at all. Royal Heroes A grindy and buggy mobile game. Endless Space 2 – Digital Deluxe Edition I thought I was falling out of love with the space 4X genre, having been very disappointed with the last few I placed – particularly Stellaris – but this hit the mark. The alien races are distinct, making for significantly different gameplay. The gameplay itself is always interesting; unlike Stellaris, it doesn’t hit a dead patch mid-game. I found the combat a little frustrating – seemingly even contests would often have completely one-sided results for no apparent reason – but aside from that it was a solid game. Monster Slayers An enjoyable little rogue-lite deck builder. While I normally prefer a bit more flexibility in deck building, tying cards to characters meant that each one had a distinctive feel which gave the game plenty of replayability. Dark Train This sounded interesting in concept, but was way too oblique for me. State of Decay 2 This seemed like the perfect game for me – I love survival management and settlement building. Unfortunately, it wound up feeling rather like a shallow MMO – trite dialogue, grindy tasks and no real sense of purpose or direction. I just found myself engaging in long, dull runs between locations, engaging in the same shoddy combat over and over again. The Banner Saga 3 I played the first two games in the series to completion and seem to recall enjoying them, but something about this did not click at all. I had zero interest in the story – the time between instalments has dulled my memory of it – and the gameplay just felt so flat. I’m not really sure what changed between playing the last two games and now, but I had no motivation to keep playing. Gremlins, Inc A reasonably enjoyable but forgettable board game. Warhammer 40, 000 – Space Wolf This is a game plagued by odd design choices. It has turn-based combat (which I love), but it is deprived of so much of its strategy by the way it is designed. Enemies appear at arbitrary moments from arbitrary locations (including amid your troops) without warning or logic, meaning that success requires either a degree of fortune or grinding missions to know when and where enemies will appear. Perhaps this is to compensate for the weak AI, which is prone to boneheaded acts, but it just makes things irritating and dull. It also has a card collecting and deck building mechanic (again, which I love). The distribution of cards, however, is bizarre – completing tasks in missions (which can take 30+ minutes each) will give a couple of low-level cards. In contrast, activating one of numerous codes from the forums provides a pile of high-level cards. “Legendary” cards are so readily available in this form that a deck can be filled with them with a few minutes’ effort. There is a clumsy system for upgrading each card, none of which is explained in the shallow tutorial. There is also an upgrade path for your squadmates – again poorly explained – which is reliant on grinding missions. They don't use your custom decks, so while you're flooded with Elite and Legendary cards for the leader, you have to grind just to eke out a few more Uncommons for the rest of your squad. There's really nothing else to recommend the game. Graphics and sound are serviceable and the story is barely there. It just feels like yet another Warhammer game pushed out for the sake of it. Warhammer 40, 000 – Dawn of War II Another disappointing Warhammer game. Again this had things I liked – a strategic layer with character progression, equippable loot, choice of missions and ebb and flow of the wider battle. However, I found this constrained by the limits placed on that strategy, with constant time pressure funnelling me into the key missions. I’m not sure how much that time pressure would have impacted on the outcome – would doing side missions result in overall failure – as it was never properly explained. Moreover, I found the RTS gameplay really quite dull and repetitive, such that I didn’t feel compelled to continue. Road Redemption Incredibly dumb – horrible dialogue, clumsy gameplay (trying to aim guns while riding was a nightmare) and buggy (the one round which I won was as a result of a bug which caused me to be invincible for most of it), but it did have some entertainment value. Moonlighter Having spent 125 hours in Recettear, it's fair to say I am very much open to the burgeoning shopkeeper-by-day/dungeon-crawler-by-night genre. Unfortunately, this fell flat. Even after a relatively short period it became a dull grind. Much of that is due to a distinct lack of charm; it looks nice in screenshots, but lacks any real character or presence in game. The absence of any decent writing is another problem; what there was of the story didn't interest me in the slightest. In contrast to a game like Recettear, filled with charm and heart, this was utterly bland. Add in the clumsy storage system, shallow shopkeeping, sluggish combat and irritatingly repetitive music, and seven hours was more than enough for me. Shelter Was rather surprised to dislike this. I found myself getting lost far too easily, which given that it was a very linear game meant a lot of frustration. The visual presentation was grating and confusing. Mainlining Moderately interesting hacking game, but too shallow, linear and not particularly well written. Reassembly Took a while for this to click, but once it did it was decent enough. I could have spent many hours playing this in the ‘90s, but it didn’t have enough of interest for me to do so now. 12 Labours of Hercules V: Kids of Hellas Cute enough, I suppose, but quickly became repetitive. Aaero A music-based shooter with poorly explained shooter mechanics and music which was very much not to my taste. One track really stood out as effectively blending the music and game mechanics, but that should have been the standard rather than the exception. Purrfect Date This game is presented as a cutesy, tongue-in-cheek game and for the most part it pulls that off pretty well. If that was the sum of it, I'd be reasonably satisfied. Instead, there is a dark, unpleasant story underneath, with numerous descriptions of animal abuse. It's utterly jarring - a game which is presented as being for cat lovers (not that kind of lover), yet featuring descriptions of them being victims of torture, experimentation and killing. The closest thing to a warning on the store page is a reference to "black humour", which doesn't cover it in my view. There is no humour in these scenes, so it’s not “black humour”. I don’t know what it is, other than a simply bizarre choice. Even putting aside the lack of warning, it's an unpleasant and jarring experience. I'm at a loss as to what on earth the devs were thinking. The writing is otherwise reasonably good. The structure of the game, however, is poor. It requires multiple playthroughs to get a proper ending, and there is no way to quickly skip the text. Prepare for RSI, clicking through page after page of dialogue, if you ever want to get to the ending. Suffice to say, going through this once is quite enough for me. Space Hulk Ascension I normally love turn-based combat, especially with RPG progression, but this was just dull and frustrating. Not having a good year with Warhammer games. Super Daryl Deluxe All very QUIRKY, and constantly at pains to remind you of how QUIRKY it is, without ever being particularly amusing. The art style is at least eyecatching, and some of the music is decent, but the writing didn’t grab me at all. The combat was a grindy battle of attrition – the only thing worse than “kill x monster” quests are “collect x items which randomly drop from only a small percentage of monsters after you kill them” quests. Add in the ever-frustrating boss fights where you had to win through repeating an unintuitive set of actions several times, and I didn’t feel like going much further. Think of the Children Nice idea, and it’s good to play a locally-made game, but it’s dreadfully designed for a single player. Although it can have up to three co-op partners, it doesn’t adjust the difficulty in the slightest to cater for a solo player rendering it near-impossible. Legend of Grimrock 2 Obtuse puzzles, clumsy combat and bland design made this quickly unappealing. FIFA 19 I mainly just played for the story mode, which was fine. Didn't notice much of a difference from 18. Out of the Park Baseball 20 No discernible improvement upon its predecessor. Oriental Empires Some nice ideas, but thoroughly dull. In six hours I was attacked three times by bandits and spent the rest of the time painstakingly building farms. Iratus: Lord of the Dead An enjoyable little strategy game. I will probably go back to it since it's in early access and is constantly being rebalanced. Into the Breach Moderately interesting strategy, but not enough to keep me coming back. There Came An Echo Iridium's previous game, Before the Echo (aka Sequence) was a flawed but enjoyable hidden gem. There Came an Echo has a similar level of charm, but two fundamental problems. The first is that it was simply unplayable on my PC. A black screen after loading; no way past it. Apparently it was due to an incompatibility with my microphone which is rather problematic when I don't HAVE a microphone. The second is that (having used my partner's computer to run it) ultimately it's a very raw proof of concept. Like its predecessor it has charm in the voice acting and writing, but unlike its predecessor it is just not a lot of fun to play. Put aside the gimmick of giving voice commands and you're left with a short, clumsy, shallow and frustrating experience. World of Mixed Martial Arts 5 As usual for the series (indeed, the dev in general), a stack of good ideas marred by fundamental flaws. Good as a hypnotic experience between other games. Star Trek Timelines I tried this briefly a few years ago and didn't get into it, but I certainly did this year. It's all pretty shallow, but as a fan-friendly timewaster it's decent enough. Football Manager Touch 2019 Endlessly infuriating, and a bit buggy, but always manages to draw me back in.

Watch The Aeronauts now exclusively with your Prime Membership. I watched the picture earlier at the cinema. In it's own right it was very watchable- beautiful cinematography and 'edge of your seat' moments- clearly the director was going for having Redmayne and Jones on screen together again and yes, they have chemistry but I still consider it a snub of Henry Coxwell. Black metal band from Notodden (Telemark), Norway, founded in 1991 by Ihsahn (Vegard Tveitan) and Samoth (Tomas Haugen). Emperor were the first Norwegian black metal group to include symphonic keyboard arrangements and orchestration in their music, which soon made them one of the most influential bands in the whole black metal scene. During their 10-year career Emperor recorded four full-length albums, with which their music developed increasingly more technical and complex, reaching its peak on the "Prometheus" album. Emperor disbanded in 2001, but they have done selected reunion appearances over the years. First one was in 2005-2007, when they did few festival dates and brief US tours. In 2013-2014 Emperor reunited with the original drummer Faust (Bård Eithun) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "In The Nightside Eclipse" album. The most recent 2017-2018 festival reunion shows focus on celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second album "Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk". Sexiest song ever. As a good friend of the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, filmmaker Richard Lowenstein gets amazing, unprecedented access to home movies, personal recordings of Hutchence's thoughts when he was alive, and interviews with close friends and family of Hutchence.
The result is a wonderful and fitting tribute to a rock star whose music and charisma had a huge impact on his generation.
People such as lover Kylie Minogue and manager Martha Troup speak in depth about what Hutchence was really like, and what drove him.
The consensus is that he was an artist at heart - shy as a boy but a showman as an adult, who write his own lyrics and melodies and wanted to be famous, but who like so many before him, suffered the downsides of fame.
Hutchence loved his parents, but the documentary shows how they had deep flaws, for which he forgave them eventually.
The part I don't quite understand is about Hutchence's relationship with Paula Yates, and the circumstances that led to Hutchence's death in a Sydney hotel.
There were some very messy circumstances, and I'm not sure this doco provides many insights, aside from suggesting that Hutchence was down because he agonised over the prospect of breaking up Yates and Bob Geldof, and thereby hurting their three daughters, which may have reminded Hutchence of the pain of his own parents' split.
I don't know about that. But maybe we'll never know, because Yates and Hutchence are no longer with us.
Hutchence and Yates were, as someone points out, bad influences on one another.
It's so sad, in any case, that Hutchence had such a terrible fall from his golden early years.

¿Cómo arribó a esa conclusión? ", me dijo. Michael Hutchence was incredibly charismatic with a stage-presence the likes of Mick Jagger can only dream of having. Ive seen many overseas acts and also saw INXS live often, Michael remains the most alluring frontman Ive ever seen. You know what I like about INXS (liked) and what I thought was really unique about them was that they are rock but at the same time they had a danceable groove. Most groups either rock out or if something has a groove it's coming from pop or r&b or somewhere else other than rock. Do you catch my drift.

Trivia Helena Christensen was with Michael Hutchence when he was attacked in Copenhagen by a taxi driver. Hutchence swore Christiensen to secrecy about the incident. This film marks the first time that she has ever spoken about it. An American in Paris Watch full. Każda z nich (paryska wiosna, targ kwiatowy, spacer, blues i zachwycający 18-minutowy finał) umieszczona została w innej scenografii odpowiadającej obrazom mistrzów francuskiego malarstwa - Dufy'ego, Maneta, Utrilla, Renoira i Toulouse-Lautreca.

An American in Paris Watch full review. An american in paris watch full video. An american in paris watch full episodes. I absolutely love Scheherazade the story is amazing. An american in paris watch full show. An American In Paris is a very different beast of a movie than Singin' in the Rain. It's not as fun as other MGM musicals (although there is fun to be had) but it's better described as a more intellectual viewing experience. The film is light on plot like other classic Hollywood musicals but there is much going on internally between and within the characters. Simply put, this movie musical is dark. Gene Kelly's role of Jerry Mulligan is a cynical loser who is not a very successful painter (although I do like when he tells of the pretentious art student, telling it like it is. Likewise the romance between Jerry and Lise Bouvier (Leslie Caron) is a hopeful but not entirely a happy one. Even with Kelly and Caron ending up together at the end, the character relationships in the film are never resolved. During the film I kept thinking is she not better off with Henri Baurel (Georges Guetary) The guy who is a successful actor and saved your life during the war or the loser whom you only recently met? Likewise in Milo Robert's (Nina Foch) final appearance she states "I think I need some champagne" and is never heard or seen again. Even though her character denies wanting more with Kelly than championship and only wants to help him professionally in a surprising prostitution reference ( If you're hard up for companionship there are guys in town who do this kind of thing for a living, call one of them. I never felt convinced by this. Who says classic Hollywood is all just happy endings?
An American In Paris is the perfect display of the artistry of director Vincente Minnelli. He found French painting an inspiration for his own style; a skill he would incorporate into other productions such as Lust for Life. There couldn't be a better or more obvious choice of director for An American In Paris than Minnelli. Not many other directors can use space as effective as Minnelli and display such a fluid motion of the camera. Just look as the film's introductory sequence to Gene Kelly and his chums or the shot of Kelly walking down several flights of stairs in his apartment building; thus I can forgive the very visible camera shake 47 minutes into the movie during the Tra-la-la number. Even though he was a contract director (he made 33 films, only three made outside of MGM) he rose above these constraints and formed his own style whereas contract directors where usually assigned to conform to the studio's standard and aesthetic. Whether or not he can be classified as an auteur there has been no other filmmaker like him in Hollywood history.
The film's sets themselves look like they've been lived in instead of coming off as totally shiny and glossy with frames still looking like Paris as the impressionists saw it. Have neighbourhoods in Paris ever looked like this or is it just movie fantasy? Likewise take in the appearance of the Beatnick nightclub and observe the early incarnation to the modern day world of the hipster.
Kelly's ability to dance alongside children and interact with them is something no one could do better than him which is evident from the genuine reactions from the on looking kids during the I Got Rhythm number; truly the dancing figure for the everyman. Leslie Caron's introductory ballet sequence on the other hand is a Technicolor assault on the senses; the backgrounds are one solid colour while she wears dresses which totally contrasts them. Could you ask for a more memorable first ever screen appearance; complete with a sexual chair dance and one flexible body. Likewise the contradictory humour from the sequence's narration always makes me laugh. Another major musical highlight is Oscar Levant's dream sequence which reminds of the Buster Keaton short The Playhouse in which every member of the theatre is played by Keaton; likewise here he have an army of Oscar Levant. The sequence was actually his idea and along with the character he portrays in the film reflects his real life personality as a neurotic. The appearance and the colours of the sequence definitely remind me of Powell and Pressburger; surely the filmmakers must have taken inspiration.
They do save the best for last however in the form of the American In Paris Ballet; among one of the greatest things ever committed to film. A sequence which takes full advantage of cinema as an art form; could the entire thing be recreated on the stage? Watch French impressionism come to life in a 17 minutes feast for the senses which is artful without being artsy. There's chorography and then there's this with so many people moving, dancing and doing their own thing; with Gene Kelly's graceful yet masculine dancing still being at the centre of it. Fred Astaire once said he didn't want the camera to dance for him but rather stay stationary with as few cuts as possible. Kelly's style is very much the opposite of this in that the camera movement is integral to the dance but doesn't take away from his talent, not one bit. Yet I haven't I even mentioned the music of Gershwin; could it be more lush and rich.

Ron Howard; 140minutes; 7,7 of 10; year=1995; writer=Jeffrey Kluger, Jim Lovell; genres=Drama. NASA Forty-three years ago today, the Apollo 13 spacecraft splashed down into the Pacific Ocean following one of the most remarkable recovery missions in space history. Inside was mission commander Jim Lovell, 42, lunar module pilot  Fred Haise, 36, and commander module pilot  Jack Swigert, 38. Apollo 13, which blasted into space on April 11, 1970, was supposed to land on the moon. But an explosion in one part of the spacecraft less than three days after launch forced NASA to abort the mission. The mission is still considered a "successful failure" because the three astronauts returned to Earth safely. Around 47 hours into the mission, everything seemed to be running smoothly. "The spacecraft is in real good shape as far as we are concerned. We're bored to tears down here, " Capsule communicator Joe Kerwin says. Sigurd A. Sjoberg, director of flight operations views the Apollo 13 liftoff from a console in the mission control center. Scientist-Astronaut Joseph P. Kerwin, a spacecraft communicator for the mission, looks on at right. Just 9 hours later, the crew finished a television broadcast showing how comfortable it is to live on the spacecraft in zero gravity. Lovell closed with a warm good night: This is the crew of Apollo 13 wishing everybody there a nice evening, and we're just about ready to close out our inspection of Aquarius and get back for a pleasant evening in Odyssey. Good night. " A few minutes after the broadcast wraped, ground control asked Swigert to perform a routine procedure called a cryo-stir. This involved powering fans to stir two oxygen tanks in the service module, which prevented the liquid oxygen from settling into layers. Thirteen minutes after the bang Lovell peers out the window. It's the final indication that something disastrous has happened. "It looks to me that we are venting something, " Lovell reports from Apollo 13. "We're venting something out into space. It's a gas of some sort. " That gas was the oxygen the crew not only needed in order to breathe, but also to power the fuel cells that generated water and power for the spacecraft. The command module (where the crew lived) was quickly losing power. The mission was aborted. Apollo 13 would not land on the moon. What went wrong? An investigation later determined that exposed wires shorted when the fan was turned on to stir the oxygen tanks. The spark, fueled by pure oxygen, ignited the Tungsten insulation. This started a fire inside the number 2 oxygen tank, increasing pressure and causing it to explode. Back in the control center, NASA had called all of its top people in within a few hours of the explosion. With the command module crippled, the decision was made to move the crew to the lunar module (designed to land on the moon), which would act as a "lifeboat. " Lovell is pictured here inside the lunar module. This would present several future challenges. The lunar module was only designed to support two men for two days (like in this artist's concept of Apollo 13 astronauts exploring the moon's surface). Now it was being used to support three men for about 90 hours. The crew had enough back-up oxygen, but the build-up of carbon dioxide would soon be an issue. The new mission was to get the lunar module in a free-return-to-Earth trajectory. Prior to the explosion, the craft was on course for the moon. The free-return course required slinging the lunar module around the moon, back to Earth, and landing in the Pacific Ocean. A telescope photographs the Apollo 13 spacecraft in the lunar-free return, which will take the craft around the far side of the moon, and back to Earth. After a day and a half in the lunar module, a warning light goes off showing dangerous levels of carbon dioxide. The crew could use the canisters used to remove carbon dioxide from the command module, but there was one problem: The command module used square canisters, while the lunar module used round ones. Mission control came up with a makeshift system using only materials available on the craft, like plastic bags, cardboard, and tape, to make this work. The crew photographs the far side of the moon from the Apollo 13 spacecraft on their perilous journey home. The trip is gruesome. There is very little food and water. Most electrical systems, including heat, were shut down to conserve power. The crew can't sleep because it is so cold. At one point the temperature drops to 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Four hours before landing, the damaged service module was released from the command module. The crew snapped pictures, and for the first time, were able to see the full extent of the damage. A view of the service module from the lunar module, which is still attached to the command module. The moon can be seen in the distant background. "There's one whole side of that spacecraft missing, " Jim Lovell said. An entire panel of the service module had been blown away when the oxygen tank exploded, as seen in this close-up image. About to splash down in the South Pacific Ocean, the crew moved back into the command module. The lunar module was shed from the command module. A view of Apollo 13 lunar module from the command module. A large screen in front of the mission control room shows the spacecraft with its parachutes deployed. The capsule and its parachutes are visible after breaking through dark clouds. The spacecraft splashes down on April 17, 1970 at 12:07 p. m. The total voyage time was about 142 hours. Mission control celebrates! The astronauts are pulled from the command module onto life rafts. Haise, Lovell, and Swigert step off a helicopter onto recovery ship U. S. Iwo Jima. After the crew is safely on the ship, the command module is pulled on board. A day later, Lovell reads the newspaper account of Apollo 13's rescue while still on board the U. Iwo Jima. President Richard Nixon presents the nation's highest civilian award to the Apollo 13 crew on April 18. After Apollo 13, eight more Apollo spacecraft flew. None of them experienced problems. The thermostat in the O2 tank fused together because it was an old style 28 volt model when it should have been upgraded to 65 volts. I also recall something about the tank being damaged when it was installed and then removed from a different rocket prior to being used. They over simplified the problem. OH MY GOD! The flight MESA had a color TV camera. "There weren't very many flight units available for this type of use and I suspect that if they had a mockup, they would have used it in lieu of a flight model. Since the TV SEC (Secondary Electron Conduction) vidicon as used in Apollo 12 was replaced with a newly developed SIT (Silicon Intensifier Tube) on Apollo 14 to minimize the possibility of having a repeat of the Apollo 12 fiasco. We had only one CM and LM TV cameras upgraded with a SIT by then and I doubt if they would have chanced using either one of these flight models for this type of test. Haise Jr., Apollo 13 Lunar Module Pilot, participated in a walk-through of the extravehicular activity timeline near the flight crew training building here today. In the foreground is the lunar surface tool carrier, topped by auger-like pipes, to be used with a motorized device to obtain soil sample cores in the Moon’s rugged Fra Mauro region. Apollo 13 is scheduled for launch from Complex 39’s Pad A no earlier than April 13. The other crew members are James A. Lovell, Jr., commander, and Thomas K. Mattingly II, Command Module pilot. " Note that Haise has a 16-mm DAC movie camera mounted on his RCU bracket. The featureless box mounted on the camera of Haise's right is a battery for the DAC. Scan courtesy Margaret Persinger, KSC. The drill is at his right and drill stem rack is at his left. On the Moon, Fred plans to drill to two holes to the heat flow experiment and one core hole. In drilling the core hole, he uses six 42. 5-cm stem, emplacing one stem and then attaching the next before extracting the entire string. Here, he has evidently just drawn the string out of the buried container which contains lunar soil simulant. As Dave Scott discovered on Apollo 15, lunar soil is more compact than expected at depth and extraction of the core was extremely difficult. Later crews had a jack and treadle to help with the extraction. Scan by Ed Hengeveld. KSC-70PC-12 ( 144k or 353k) Jim Lovell (left) and Fred Haise pose at the foot of a LM simulator. KSC-70PC-18 ( 144k or 800k) Close-up of Fred Haise during training. Ulli Lotzmann calls attention to the fact that Fred is using a RCU-mounted Data Acquisition Camera (DAC). RCU mounting brackets for DAC cameras were flown on all the missions from Apollo 13 to Apollo 17, but the only training photos of RCU-mounted DACs are from Apollo 13. This image also gives us an excellent view of Fred's spiral-bound cuff checklist. A page in Jim Lovell's cuff checklist for activities at 1+00 into the EVA indicates that Fred sent a DAC out from the cabin in the ETB. Jim then mounted the DAC on his RCU to film Fred's egress. Item 155 in the Apollo 13 CM launch stowage list is "Camera/Power Pack Assy 16MH L. S. ", which is clearly a battery-powered DAC configured for use on the lunar surface. Pickering. Lithium hydroxide is used to scrub CO2 from the spacecraft's atmosphere. Since there was a limited amount of lithium hydroxide in the LM, this arrangement was rigged up to utilize the canisters from the CM. The "mail box" was designed and tested on the ground at the Manned Spacecraft Center before it was suggested to the Apollo 13 crewmen. Because of the explosion of one of the oxygen tanks in the Service Module, the three crewmen had to use the LM as a 'lifeboat'. NASA caption. Scan by Kipp Teague. It was a great movie about an amazing mission that show the best of what the Apollo missions were about! On a much smaller note since the movie and in just about every media coverage about the mission, I've always seen the young woman in the news clip at 37:24. Free apollo 13: the imax experience 1. Failure is always an option. Sketch of a circumlunar free return trajectory (not to scale) A free-return trajectory is a trajectory of a spacecraft traveling away from a primary body (for example, the Earth) where gravity due to a secondary body (for example, the Moon) causes the spacecraft to return to the primary body without propulsion (hence the term free). [1] Earth–Moon [ edit] The first spacecraft to use a free-return trajectory was the Soviet Luna 3 mission in October 1959. It used the Moon's gravity to send it back towards the Earth so that the photographs it had taken of the far side of the Moon could be downloaded by radio. Symmetrical free-return trajectories were studied by Arthur Schwaniger of NASA in 1963 with reference to the Earth–Moon system. [2] He studied cases in which the trajectory at some point crosses at a right angle the line going through the centre of the Earth and the centre of the Moon, and also cases in which the trajectory crosses at a right angle the plane containing that line and perpendicular to the plane of the Moon's orbit. In both scenarios we can distinguish between: [2] A circumlunar free-return trajectory around the Moon. The spacecraft passes behind the Moon. It moves there in a direction opposite to that of the Moon, or at least slower than the Moon in the same direction. If the craft's orbit begins in a normal (west to east) direction near Earth, then it makes a figure 8 around the Earth and Moon when plotted in a coordinate system that rotates as the Moon goes around the Earth. A cislunar free-return trajectory. The spacecraft goes beyond the orbit of the Moon, returns to inside the Moon's orbit, moves in front of the Moon while being diverted by the Moon's gravity to a path away from the Earth to beyond the orbit of the Moon again, and is drawn back to Earth by Earth's gravity. (There is no real distinction between these trajectories and similar ones that never go beyond the Moon's orbit, but the latter may not get very close to the Moon, so are not considered as relevant. ) In both the circumlunar case and the cislunar case, the craft can be moving generally from west to east around the Earth (co-rotational), or from east to west (counter-rotational). For trajectories in the plane of the Moon's orbit with small periselenum radius (close approach of the Moon), the flight time for a cislunar free-return trajectory is longer than for the circumlunar free-return trajectory with the same periselenum radius. Flight time for a cislunar free-return trajectory decreases with increasing periselenum radius, while flight time for a circumlunar free-return trajectory increases with periselenum radius. [2] The speed at a perigee of 6555 km from the centre of the Earth for trajectories passing between 2000 and 20 000 km from the Moon is between 10. 84 and 10. 92 km/s regardless of whether the trajectory is cislunar or circumlunar or whether it is co-rotational or counter-rotational. [3] Using the simplified model where the orbit of the Moon around the Earth is circular, Schwaniger found that there exists a free-return trajectory in the plane of the orbit of the Moon which is periodic. After returning to low altitude above the Earth (the perigee radius is a parameter, typically 6555 km) the spacecraft would start over on the same trajectory. This periodic trajectory is counter-rotational (it goes from east to west when near the Earth). It has a period of about 650 hours (compare with a sidereal month, which is 655. 7 hours, or 27. 3 days). Considering the trajectory in an inertial (non-rotating) frame of reference, the perigee occurs directly under the Moon when the Moon is on one side of the Earth. Speed at perigee is about 10. 91 km/s. After 3 days it reaches the Moon's orbit, but now more or less on the opposite side of the Earth from the Moon. After a few more days, the craft reaches its (first) apogee and begins to fall back toward the Earth, but as it approaches the Moon's orbit, the Moon arrives, and there is a gravitational interaction. The craft passes on the near side of the Moon at a radius of 2150 km (410 km above the surface) and is thrown back outwards, where it reaches a second apogee. It then falls back toward the Earth, goes around to the other side, and goes through another perigee close to where the first perigee had taken place. By this time the Moon has moved almost half an orbit and is again directly over the craft at perigee. Other cislunar trajectories are similar but do not end up in the same situation as at the beginning, so cannot repeat. [2] There will of course be similar trajectories with periods of about two sidereal months, three sidereal months, and so on. In each case, the two apogees will be further and further away from Earth. These were not considered by Schwaniger. This kind of trajectory can occur of course for similar three-body problems; this problem is an example of a circular restricted three-body problem. While in a true free-return trajectory no propulsion is applied, in practice there may be small mid-course corrections or other maneuvers. A free-return trajectory may be the initial trajectory to allow a safe return in the event of a systems failure; this was applied in the Apollo 8, Apollo 10, and Apollo 11 lunar missions. In such a case a free return to a suitable reentry situation is more useful than returning to near the Earth, but then needing propulsion anyway to prevent moving away from it again. Since all went well, these Apollo missions did not have to take advantage of the free return and inserted into orbit upon arrival at the Moon. The atmospheric entry interface velocity upon return from the Moon is approximately 36, 500 ft/s (11. 1 km/s; 40, 100 km/h; 24, 900 mph) [4] whereas the more common spacecraft return velocity from low-Earth orbit (LEO) is approximately 7. 8 km/s (28, 000 km/h; 17, 000 mph). Due to the landing-site restrictions that resulted from constraining the launch to a free return that flew by the Moon, subsequent Apollo missions, starting with Apollo 12 and including the ill-fated Apollo 13, used a hybrid trajectory that launched to a highly elliptical Earth orbit that fell short of the Moon with effectively a free return to the atmospheric entry corridor. They then performed a mid-course maneuver to change to a trans-Lunar trajectory that was not a free return. [5] This retained the safety characteristics of being on a free return upon launch and only departed from free return once the systems were checked out and the lunar module was docked with the command module, providing back-up maneuver capabilities. [6] In fact, within hours after the accident, Apollo 13 used the lunar module to maneuver from its planned trajectory to a circumlunar free-return trajectory. [7] Apollo 13 was the only Apollo mission to actually turn around the Moon in a free-return trajectory (however, two hours after perilune, propulsion was applied to speed the return to Earth by 10 hours and move the landing spot from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean). Earth–Mars [ edit] A free-return transfer orbit to Mars is also possible. As with the Moon, this option is mostly considered for crewed missions. Robert Zubrin, in his book The Case for Mars, discusses various trajectories to Mars for his mission design Mars Direct. The Hohmann transfer orbit can be made free-return. It takes 250 days (0. 68 years) in the transit to Mars, and in the case of a free-return style abort without the use of propulsion at Mars, 1. 5 years to get back to Earth, at a total delta-v requirement of 3. 34 km/s. Zubrin advocates a slightly faster transfer, that takes only 180 days to Mars, but 2 years back to Earth in case of an abort. This route comes also at the cost of a higher delta-v of 5. 08 km/s. Zubrin writes that faster routes have a significantly higher delta-v cost and free-return duration (e. g. transfer to Mars in 130 days takes 7. 93 km/s delta-v and 4 years on the free return), and so he advocates for the 180-day transfer. [8] A free return is also the part of various other mission designs, such as Mars Semi-Direct and Inspiration Mars. There also exists the option of two- or three-year free-returns that do not rely on the gravity of Mars, but are simply transfer orbits with periods of 2 or 1. 5 years, respectively. A two-year free return means from Earth to Mars (aborted there) and then back to Earth all in 2 years. [9] The entry corridor (range of permissible path angles) for landing on Mars is limited, and experience has shown that the path angle is hard to fix (e. +/- 0. 5 deg). This limits entry into the atmosphere to less than 9 km/s. On this assumption, a two-year return is not possible for some years, and for some years a delta-v kick of 0. 6 to 2. 7 km/s at Mars may be needed to get back to Earth. [10] NASA published the Design Reference Architecture 5. 0 for Mars in 2009, advocating a 174-day transfer to Mars, which is close to Zubrin's proposed trajectory. [11] It cites a delta-v requirement of approximately 4 km/s for the trans-Mars injection, but does not mention the duration of a free return to Earth. Cheng lang zhi yu hui. この歌はとてもいいです私はそれが好きです. When I watched the movie, idky but I cried. When I first watched the film, I thought the pacing was way too quick for me to actually understand what was going on. Although I will say that the fire fighter scenes were pretty intense regardless if they were only training or had to attend buildings that were on fire due to fireworks.
I understood this films backdrop involving the feeling of losing someone through drowning and honestly the ending was a near hard hitter for me. However I would have liked if the couples experience together was more in depth because as I said yet again, it was rather rushed. It didn't give much in depth either with the other guy who had a crush on her or if he was going for someone else. Since I'm not gonna say spoilers to telling you who's who, it's best to watch the film.
Animation wise, it was pretty alright. Not amazeballs but it was easy on the eyes at least.
As much as the film did offer a bit of emotion, it's not the ultimate worse or disappointment I've ever seen. However room for improvement is what it definitely definitely needs in terms of story pace development.

Soshite kisetsu ga meguru tabi. Hinako is a surfer, Minato is a firefighter. Both about 20 and they fall in love. Everything is ridiculously perfect, but one day Minato drowns while trying to save someone from the ocean.
Hinako, understandably takes it pretty bad, but to her surprise, whenever she starts singing their favorite song, Minato's spirit appears in the closest body of water - be it a stream, the ocean, or a bottle of mineral water.
The whole story is really about Hinako, Minato's friends and family, and how they slowly but finally learn to "let go.
Of course, it's magical-realism, so in the end we get to witness some crazy action as well, where we surf down a skyscraper with our protagonists.
Unfortunately, this is not the most original story, the characters are a little two dimensional, and the filmmaking could've been a little braver.
It's fine though, the film looks really nice, colorful with constantly glowing orange hues and cool blues. The action looks fantastic as well and the environments feel very "lived in" and detailed. Seeing it on a big screen really adds to the experience.
It is also paced well, has some pretty funny moments, as well as a couple of quite moving ones.
Recommended if you manage to catch it screening somewhere, but not an essential viewing.
There.
Really not much else to say about it, but seeing the only other user review for this title is from someone who clearly has no idea what he's talking about, I wanted to add my two cents.

Cheng lang zhi year. BE WARNED U WILL CRY A LOT (its alrdy released been released in my country n i watched it heheh) BUT ITS WORTH THE WATCH LIKE THE ART N MUSIC IS BEAUTIFUL OMG N THE PLOT TOO (even tho its somewhat predictable n u can tell abit like from the trailer but issok.

Who cares if we can't see any sunshine? I want you more than any blue sky. I saw Weathering With You last night, and it was SO worth the wait. I've been waiting for 7 months to see it, and I could not have been more proud with the results. I have never seen such beautiful animation in an anime film. I almost teared up at the end. This film was a masterpiece. 10/10. Cheng lang zi yue international. I cant tell if he was talking about the people or the food 😂. Thank god the script writer avoids all the common cliche from a Japanese anime. It's a sincere and touching story, worth the time.

Ride Your Wave Theatrical release poster Directed by Masaaki Yuasa Written by Reiko Yoshida Starring Ryota Katayose Rina Kawaei Honoka Matsumoto Kentaro Ito Music by Michiru Oshima Production company Science Saru Distributed by Toho Release date June 10, 2019 ( Annecy) June 21, 2019 Running time 96 minutes Country Japan Language Japanese Box office ¥80 million Ride Your Wave ( Japanese: きみと、波にのれたら, Hepburn: Kimi to, Nami ni Noretara) is a 2019 Japanese animated film produced by Science Saru and directed by Masaaki Yuasa. The film premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on June 10, 2019 and was released in Japan on June 21, 2019. Plot [ edit] 19-year-old Hinako Mukaimizu moves to an oceanside town to attend college and indulge in her hobby, surfing, without much thought to her future. When her new apartment catches on fire, she is rescued by Minato Hinageshi, a 21-year-old firefighter with a strong sense of justice. Hinako is drawn to his dependable personality, and they bond when he begins learning how to surf. As the two spend time together, they fall in love; however, when Minato goes surfing during a storm, he drowns while rescuing a person. Hinako is distraught with his death, but one day, she finds out that he appears in water whenever she sings "Brand New Story", a song the two of them often sang together. Initially happy she can see him again, Hinako later learns that he cannot be free unless she is able to move on with her life. Cast [ edit] Ryota Katayose as Minato Hinageshi Rina Kawaei as Hinako Mukaimizu Honoka Matsumoto as Yōko Hinageshi Kentaro Ito as Wasabi Kawamura Production [ edit] The film was announced at the Tokyo International Film Festival in 2018, where Yuasa stated that he would direct. [1] He described the film as a "simple romantic comedy" that will have "a lot of exciting scenes", including some depicting the contrast between water and fire. [1] Yuasa compared life to "riding a wave", using it as the basis for the story. [1] The film was produced by Science Saru. [2] Reiko Yoshida served as the scriptwriter and Michiru Oshima served as a music composer. [2] Rina Kawaei and Ryota Katayose joined the cast on leading roles in January 2019, with the film being Katayose's first voice acting role. [3] Honoka Matsumoto and Kentaro Ito joined the cast on supporting roles in February 2019. [4] The film's theme song is "Brand New Story" by Generations from Exile Tribe. [5] A music video animated by Science Saru featured the members and new original scenes from the released film on June 21, 2019. [6] To promote the film, a two-chapter manga adaptation by Machi Kiachi was serialized in Deluxe BetsuComi, which contains an original story about Hinako and Minato's first meeting. [7] On July 2, 2019, GKIDS announced they were licensing the film in North America and it is set to premiere in 2020. [8] Release [ edit] The film was released in Japan nationwide on June 21, 2019. A China release for the film was slated to release on August 7th, 2019, but was cancelled five days prior. [9] The film premiered in the United Kingdom at Scotland Loves Anime on October 11, 2019. [10] The film will later have a theatrical release in North America by GKIDS in 2020. Reception [ edit] The film was released in 299 theaters across Japan on June 21, 2019 and debuted at #9 on opening week with ¥80 million. [11] The review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reported that 75% of critics have given the film a positive review based on 8 reviews, with an average rating of 8. 5/10. [12] Matt Schley from The Japan Times gave the film four out of five stars, complimenting the "charming cast of characters", while mentioning the film seemed too "normal" for a work by Yuasa. Pati patni aur woh watch online dailymotion. Here's what critics are saying about the movie featuring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, Ananya Panday, Aparshakti Khurana important roles. © Provided by Firstpost Kartik Aaryan in a still from Pati, Patni Aur Woh Hindustan Times The film's tone is sexist, where it is okay to call your best friend's girlfriend as daayan, chudail and naagin. Call it a comedy of errors and it won't be wrong because there are plenty of them that look unsettling. I couldn't help noticing how the film ridiculously switches between Kanpur to Lucknow in a matter of seconds and without even giving the audience a proper reason. Maybe, location consistency is something that makers didn't pay any attention to. Read the complete review here.  © Provided by Mid-Day Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday Zee News Although funny for most parts, Aziz cannot resist the odd moment of melodrama. Such sequences slow down the story and also break the rhythm of humour. Overall, however, this is enjoyable fare. Maintaining a simple, straight narrative that does not delve deep into relationship complexities, Aziz's screenplay lets the cast have a field day. Read the complete review here. Pati Ptani Aur Woh stars Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in the lead roles. The Indian Express But much more problematic is the film’s slipping into casual misogyny and patriarchy: the choice of attire, Western for the bad woman and Indian for the pati-vrata, is a mouldy thing. The wife’s making eyes at a former lover is a matter of concern, but it’s perfectly okay for the husband to be handed a forgive-me-because-you-are-my-true-love arc. Read the complete review here.  © India Today News 18 Pati, Patni Aur Woh belongs to Aaryan though as he hasn’t put any foot wrong in the film. He delivers more than what was promised. He is funny, sincere, affable and in control. The same goes with Pednekar, who keeps switching gears at right moments despite giving strong Tanu Weds Manu Returns vibes. In fact, at one point, I thought she almost spoke the ‘bewafa-badchalan’ dialogue. Read the complete review here.  © India Today Firstpost The story takes more than an hour to hit its stride. Although Aaryan delivers his lines as if all around him are hearing impaired, he absolutely commits himself to the part of the duplicitous husband. Pednekar’s modern woman act is one of the stronger points, until Vedika willingly – and maybe unwisely – gives her man a second chance. There is no range or change in Pandey’s Tapasya. In the triangle, her stand is hazy, unlike Fahim, Chintu’s 3 am friend, superbly interpreted by Aparshakti Khurrana.  Read the complete review here.  © India Today India Today While Pati Patni Aur Woh is a good one-time watch, there is nothing to take home. Of late, we have had a high dose of films set in a small town, especially in Uttar Pradesh. Every such film has a joke on the current political scenario in the state which sometimes gets monotonous. However, in the introductory scene when the narrator says, "Aisa koi prashan nahi jiska uttar Uttar Pradesh main nahi hai, " strikes the right chord with the audiences. Read the complete review here.  Mid-Day Is this about a marriage gone stale? It could've been; it's not. Is it about how men are like dogs, born to stray? Could've gone that route; doesn't. Is it simply about the forbidden fruit, which was essentially the point of BR Chopra's 1978 original of the same name, starring Sanjeev Kumar? Not that that picture was a masterpiece or anything. But it had its realism in place. This is more like a mad-cap David Dhawan's Biwi No 1 treatment to the overall idea. The story is predictable and has nothing new but the screenplay is great.
I don't remember the last time a movie made me laugh so much.
Bhumi Pednekar is the best, Kartik Aryan is good and Ananya Pandey is okay.
The supporting cast has done a fabulous job especially Aparshakti Khurana and Neeraj Sood.
The problem is it is quite illogical and there are a few dialogues due to which it can make you awkward with your family.
Overall, it is a good entertainer like No Entry.
